  • From cinema to manga, television to anime, and video games to digital arts, the contemporary culture of Japan fascinates the European and French publics through its many facets. What are the logics of modernity which motivate these creations?
Under the theme of ‘Catastrophe and Media’, this conference will document reflection on this in the context of post-March 11 (the 2011 “Great Eastern Japan Earthquake”). The age of catastrophes asks of us multiple questions of destiny, fate, contingency, event and the relation of man and nature which abound in waiting for a new ecology of cultures.
